Here’s the second (and last) set of photos from my Christmas vacation in Florida.
- A somewhat chilly morning in my parents’ backyard
- One of the Old Navy pickup trucks that my dad owns
- Homemade potato chips made in the microwave – no oil required
- Putting my Christmas present to good use
- Festive manicure with my mom in preparation of NYE
- Blue skies and palm trees outside Mall at Millenia
- Snuggling Prince while watching You’ve Got Mail with my dad
- The sunrise I saw after being awake since 1 a.m.
- The last sunset I got to see in Florida before leaving
- Flame dancer performing on New Year’s Eve
- My sequined outfit for New Year’s Eve that was spent in my college town with old friends
- Hiking in the Florida wilderness with Mister E
- A happy message in the bottom of a lululemon bag which previously contained running gloves for Mister E gifted from my mom
- Prince and Mister E getting cozy together
- My parents’ dog, Flash, giving a goofy smile after a hike
- A smoothie to help lighten up my diet after a week of eating cookies, candies, cake, and too much of my mom’s cooking
I got back to Connecticut at 1 a.m. early Wednesday morning, so I’m still playing catch up on chores, work, and sleep. I promise to post more than just phone pictures soon!

i would definitely be missing those palm trees and those sunsets.
cool photo summary! i’ve been slacking like a homeless person in keeping up w/ your blog. i recently started taking macro shots of sheley’s jewelry and the great treats she makes. i find it incredibly hard to get enough lighting on the subject… doesn’t help that my tiny apartment has no natural sunlight in it. what’s your trick?
Haha, I’m a weekend photographer! I try to do all of my cooking/baking on Saturday and Sunday when I’m home for the natural light. Otherwise, I rely heavily on white balance and editing! http://morefruitplease.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/improving-your-photos-indoor-lighting/
Yea, I totally wish I had natural sunlight. I built a lightbox for photographing Sheley’s jewelry. Example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/59345752/stunning-chunky-multi-colored-agate
My only hope for getting ample lighting for food is to put the food in the lightbox, lol. Example: http://omggetthis.blogspot.com/2012/01/oatmeal-butterscotch-chocolate-chip.html
I hope to follow in your footsteps of blogging tons of food items.
I just stumbled upon your blog through IowaGirlEats. I really like some of the recipes you’ve posted. I’ll be sure to follow in the future
Have a great weekend!
Thank you, glad you found me! I hope you continue to like what you read!
